Learn More About Grande Prairie's East Link Centre

The premiere facility in the city, the Eastlink Centre sits on the south side of the community and is home to a wide variety of things to do in GP. Officially completed in the year of 2011 the facility solved a big need that was beginning to develop. Grande Prairie had started to grow in size tremendously every year thanks in large part to the booming Alberta economy. Just recently the city nearly doubled in size meaning there was a much larger need for a community all-in-one facility like the Eastlink Centre.

With the Johnny MacDonald swimming pool and arena under constant maintenance the city moved forward with the multi million dollar facility and it's been widely used since it's opening.

Whether you're visiting the city of Grande Prairie or are a resident and haven't checkout the Eastlink Centre we highly recommend doing so if you're looking for something to do within the community. We are avid users of the facility ourselves and use it for both personal and family use.

Some of the features Eastlink Centre provides:

  • 50 metre Swimming Pool which is home to competitive swimming competitions throughout the seasons.
  • Dinosaur themed waterpark
  • Two water slides as well as a FlowRider to simulate surfing.
  • Lazy River, family and adulat hot tubs, as well as steam rooms and saunas.
  • Full sized fitness and athletic facility complete with weight room.
  • 175 metre running track on the third floor
  • Field house that is home to multiple sports courts as well as racquetball and squash courts.
  • Food court, change rooms and much much more

We are proud users of this facility on a regular basis and it has provided a wonderful option for children throughout the community.  On a lot of summer days you'll often find kids visting the facility using the sports courts or swimming pools keeping them busy while away from school.  During school season the nearby St. Joes Catholic School's students find themselves visiting and having lunch within the Eastlink Centre's main concourse.

Grande Prairie has provided a beautiful facility for children but also adults.  The fitness and weight area's comes with numerous equipment as well as individual class sessions during the week.
